My name is Poornima which means full moon in Sanskrit. I live in beautiful Bothell, Washington, surrounded by the lush greens of the Pacific Northwest.

By profession, I’m a Program Manager, but my heart has always belonged to creating with my hands. What began as a personal curiosity about natural ingredients slowly grew into a passion for handcrafted, plant-based skincare and, ultimately, into Citrus Tree, a brand deeply rooted in my Indian heritage and guided by Ayurvedic wisdom.

How It All Began

Citrus Tree was born on August 3, 2020, with a Signature Collection of six simple, natural soaps, all lovingly handmade by me in small batches.

In the early days, my focus was on crafting clean, sustainable products that were gentle on the skin and kind to the planet. But as I deepened my own understanding of Ayurveda and reconnected with my ancestral traditions, I realized there was more I wanted Citrus Tree to stand for.

The Shift - Rooted in Heritage

Over time, Citrus Tree evolved from simply “natural” to intentional, drawing inspiration from the ancient rituals and botanicals of India.

I began infusing Ayurvedic ingredients like turmeric, tulsi, neem, moringa and sandalwood into my formulations, ingredients I grew up with, that have cared for our skin and well-being for generations.

Each soap and skincare product now carries a piece of that heritage - a way to share timeless rituals of healing, balance, and self-care in a form that feels modern, sustainable, and deeply connected to nature.

Our Process & Promise

Every Citrus Tree product is handcrafted in small batches using plant-based oils, luxurious butters, and pure essential oils — always palm-free, always plastic-free.

I use a thoughtful blend of olive, coconut, and castor oils, enriched with shea, cocoa, avocado, or mango butters, and colored naturally with herbal decoctions, roots, and clays.

Each ingredient is sustainably sourced, and when possible, organic and local because mindful choices create mindful products.

For me, Citrus Tree is not just a business. It’s a bridge between heritage and modernity, craft and consciousness.

It’s about slowing down, reconnecting with the wisdom of the earth, and turning everyday care into a meaningful ritual.
